Mira vs building your own Raspberry Pi smart mirror

The DIY route (MagicMirror² on a Pi)
The open-source MagicMirror² platform is fantastic. On a Raspberry Pi with a spare monitor and two-way acrylic, you can display time, weather, calendar and news for roughly ₹5,000–12,000 in parts. The community is huge and the customisation is unlimited.

- Reliability & updates — when an API changes or the Pi hangs, you're the support team.
None of it is impossible — it's just time, often many weekends, and ongoing upkeep.
